Happy Thanksgiving

Lots of people have no idea of how much they owe God. They never give him credit for even everyday things like, Life.

I found this poem, and I hope you like it. It really tells us how much we need to Thank God for all of his blessings, and His long suffering towards us. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Oh, To Be Thankful
by Deborah Smith Plemmons

Oh, to be thankful
For God's goodness,
For His mercy,
For His forgiveness.
Oh, to be thankful
For God's Son,
For saving grace,
For everyone.
Oh, to be thankful
For the trials,
For tears of joy,
For the smiles.
Oh, to be thankful
For the family unit,
For the home,
For all those in it.
Oh, to be thankful
For a house and car,
For food and clothes,
For where we are.
Oh, to be thankful
For plants and trees,
For the animals,
For a gentle breeze.
Oh, to be thankful
For life in general,
For the breath of life,
For life eternal.

God, I thank You.

My Monday To and At the Hospital.

Well today (11-16-09) went umm...ok. On my way to my sisters house, to ride with her to Houston My car just stopped. No warning, no lights came on just a little bit of a rumble from the car just before it, stopped. I was able to get it off the road, but the car started to smoke. I sat for about two minutes before trying to start it again, but it would not turn over. So I got out and started to walk. Two ladies in a truck came by and gave me a ride to my sisters house. I'm thankful for the kindness we can find in strangers, if we only look.

I got to my sisters house and called my brother in-law, (seeing how my Husband is out of town working again, and my father in-law was also out of town) and asked him to please get the car home for me. I am thankful for family I can count on.

My Nephew Joshua drove my sisters truck to the hospital in Houston. We sat there for three and 1/2 hours, she went in for surgery at 6:00 am. we got there at 10:00 am. But I got to catch up with my family, one was my brother who I have not seen in about ten years. When the Doctor came out he told us that they got it all, but the top of her left lung had to come out with it. He said, if it is or isn't cancer this is all they need to do, because they did get it all out. My Mom was in a lot of pain and did not wake up when I was there. I held her had and prayed for her as I sat there in her room. Yes, I started to cry. I am thankful that there are smart men and women who are doctors who can help my mom and those like her.

After seeing her, my sisters, my dad and I went to eat at the cafeteria, the largest hospital cafeteria I have ever seen. We sat there and wondered how we are going to talk my Mom away from her cigarettes, the doctor told us that we need to think of it like she is very allergic to even the second hand smoke. Its not going to be easy, But. I am thankful she is still with us.

Feeling a bit better I went back up to the waiting room (waiting my turn to see her again) when I did, the Doctor came in and started to talk really loud to my mom to get her woke up. He started to tell her about moving her legs, and how to cough, and I thought my dad needed to hear this, so I ran out to get him. He ran back so fast I didn't even get to say good by to him before we left. He (my dad) will stay up there with her (my mom) until she can come home. I am thankful for my dad, and the love he has for my mom.

On the way home, we stopped at my sister Carol's house. She knows about my car blowing up (smile) and so she gave me some of her stored up food. (that she will get back really easily) My sister Mary (who is the one who gave me the ride) gave me some K-9 aspirin for my dogs arthritis. Walking in my house, I seen that my children had cleaned up, and that our little green car was home. I am thankful that the day was better than I thought it would be. And I know its because you all was praying for us today.

Thank you all so very much for your prayers, and kind words. I pray the Lord blesses you for your thoughtfulness. I'm exhausted, and will go to bed now. I am thankful for all of you.

Please Pray

Going to Houston today for my Mom's operation. PLEASE pray for her today.

A Time To Think..

This weekend we (my family and I) went camping with our church. We had lodes of fun, riding our bikes, going on hikes and seeing alligators, raccoons, Dear and armadillos. After supper Friday night our Pastor gave a little devotion on not giving up. He asked all of us to say something that might have helped us continue going forward in our lives. It could be anything, while in school, work, grocery store... I was able to say what kept me going.

When I was newly saved I was so happy, I could not wait to tell my Mom and Dad. But,,, My parents, sisters & brothers are not saved, and they did not understand, so they laughed at me. I got embarrassed, and started feeling ashamed. I did not go to church, I did not read my Bible, because my lost family would laugh. And I had no one to turn to, or so I thought.

One day I heard a song about not being ashamed. It talked about how we ought not to be ashamed, for what in this world would we face, that He can't help us with? I started to cry and decided then and there, that no matter how much I get laughed at, I will go to church, I will read my Bible, I will no longer be ashamed!

Looking back on it now, I marvel at this. How could I? How could I be ashamed of the Lord who saved my soul. But then think back to where I was. I did not know about going to church, no one followed up on me to see how I was doing, I felt alone. But I can now say, that because of that decision 20 years ago, I now am happy in the Lord, married to a great Man and have four wonderful children.

What are you facing in your life that is holding you back? Now is the time my friend to give your life to the Lord and let Him take the lead.

What I've been up to.

Well the time I had away from blogging I have been really busy. We (my Church) had a revival meeting with Bro. Wayne Hudson, who it turns out, was the Pastor of the church in which I got saved, how cool is that?!! He wrote a book called 'The Beams Of Our House' He took one of them and signed it and gave it to me.

I also have become a member of TOPS (a weight loss group) I have lost 20lbs so far. When I stop and think about the 20lbs I think of a big thanksgiving turkey!! Think about it,,, and that is how much I lost. WOW (O.0)

I celebrated my 18th anniversary.

My Mom is having sergery on the 16th to have mass removed from her lungs. This is going to take place in Houston, but I have no way of getting there. So I am really down about that.

I just got back from TOPS and I lost another 1/2 lb :) My Daughter who is a member of TOPS also lost 2 lbs :) My Mother in-Law Connie is going also and she lost 3lbs :) So I guess you can say we are doing well.

Any way I need to leave again, I got to get things ready for our church camp out this weekend and get some groceries. So I will talk to you guys later. Until then, have a great day.
